Because you think we make this stuff up...

The Layman is frequently accused of reporting stories in a biased manner. Here are stories written largely by the Presbyterian New Service this past week.

High profile Presbyterians arrested at U.S. capitol

Oregon new church develop offers no worship services but does offer a full service bar

Presbyterian church gives away free copies of the Quran

San Francisco seminary names new president who doesn't have a PhD in anything related to Theology

Presbyterian minister publicly announces intent to defy the PCUSA constitution

First gay couple to marry in NY state are Presbyterian

Let them that have ears, hear.

    Carmen,

When one is confronted by the living and sharp Word of God there are only two possible outcomes: either the Word of God is going to change you, or you are going to change the Word of God.

Sadly, the PCUSA has chosen the later.

The PCUSA censors comments on these absurd articles written and posted on their website. When I hear the "leaders" in our church say the Layman is full of lies and should not be read all I can do is laugh. I wish the EPC could invade Louisville and deliver us from the leftist oppression.

I can't decide which story is my favorite:
    1. PCUSA leaders equate "love thy neighbor" with "pay more taxes so Washington can redistribute wealth"
    2. The Presbyterian church heavily disguised as a pub
    3. The Presybterian church handing out free Korans.
Thanks for this post, I have book-marked the PCUSA site so I can keep reading amazing stories like these.

It's so sad when petty, small-minded people make fun of things they cannot begin to understand.

There is no way the words of man can contain the Word of God. Our job is to keep stripping away the limitations imposed on the Word by the words. God is moving us in new directions and is constantly warning us, "I am doing a new thing, can you not see it?" The greater sin is in ignoring the "new thing" of God to cling to the old things of man.

Wow. I think all these stories are great! I am a little concerned about a non Ph.D. seminary president, but then, that job has become 90% fundraising in recent decades, and many pastors of "successful" congregations haven't even been to seminary. So I guess these stories are a problem to those who want to continue to live in the 17th century.
